Austal USA Honors Top Suppliers
MOBILE, Ala. – Austal USA recognized the company’s top suppliers last week at the company’s annual spring Supplier Fair. Over 50 of Austal USA’s team of suppliers -- direct and indirect vendors -- came together at the shipbuilder’s Mobile, Alabama manufacturing facility to exhibit their products and services and meet the workforce they support. The supplier fair also included the presentation of awards to suppliers who have gone above and beyond, setting new standards in excellence, collaboration, performance, and outstanding contributions.
“Our suppliers are more than just business partners—they are essential to our success,” said Austal USA President Michelle Kruger. “Their commitment enables us to consistently deliver quality, efficiency, and outstanding service. We rely on them to deliver materials and services on time so we can deliver on our commitments to the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard – delivering quality ships and cutters on schedule.”
The following suppliers were recognized for their outstanding service and partnership over the past year:
- Air Movement, Inc. - Small Business Supplier Award: Air Movement is an outstanding small business supplier that has consistently delivered high-quality products, met or exceeded performance expectations, and contributed to operational efficiency, cost savings, and overall supply chain success.
- Southern Controls, Inc. - Indirect Supplier Award: Southern Controls has gone above and beyond to help meet our business needs to support the everyday function of the shipyard.
- Rubber Hose & Gasket - Supplier Performance Award: Rubber Hose & Gasket has demonstrated outstanding performance in meeting or exceeding key performance indicators, such as on-time delivery, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.
- W&O Supply - Supplier Innovation Award: W&O Supply challenged the status quo, pushed boundaries, and developed innovative solutions that made a tangible difference to Austal USA.
- Energy Pipe & Supply - Supplier Excellence Award: Energy Pipe & Supply has consistently demonstrated superior performance across all aspects of the supply chain, including quality, delivery, cost management, and customer service. They are committed to continuous improvement and collaboration, which has contributed significantly to the success of our organization.
Austal USA, celebrating 25 years in Mobile, has delivered 32 ships to the Navy since 2009 and is constructing ships for six Navy and U.S. Coast Guard programs. The company also has modules in production for both the Virginia and Columbia-class submarine programs. In addition to Austal USA’s nearly one million square feet of existing enclosed manufacturing space, a new final assembly building to manufacture Navy and Coast Guard surface ships, and a dedicated submarine module production facility are both under construction. When complete they will add over 600,000 square feet of indoor production area supporting 2,000 new jobs to the workforce.
