Austal USA promotes Christy Taylor to Chief Operating Officer for Transformation
Mobile, Ala. – Austal USA announced the promotion of Christy Taylor to the newly established position of Chief Operating Officer for Transformation. In her new positon she will report to Austal USA president Rusty Murdaugh. In this position, Taylor will oversee Human Resources, Production Control, IT and Supply Chain Management operations in addition to other business integration, leadership, and strategy roles, which are critical to the continued success of Austal USA’s growing ship construction and service businesses. Her focus will be developing and integrating companywide systems and processes while identifying and enabling synergies across these functions to ensure the company is aligned in pursuit of Austal USA’s strategic goals.

Since joining Austal USA in 2007 as a senior member of the Finance team, Taylor has successfully developed and documented many of the company’s standard policies and procedures, effectively managed costs, and developed many strong partnerships resulting in favorable and fair contractual outcomes with the United States government. Her proven ability to formulate and implement strategies, attract and retain key team members and optimize company performance and shareholder value makes her the perfect fit for this role.
Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in accounting from University of Central Florida. She is a licensed CPA in the states of Alabama and Florida as well as a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), the Alabama Society of CPAs, and the University of South Alabama Accounting Advisory Board.
