Austal USA Selects 14 Charities for 2025 Charity Golf Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. – Austal USA will host the company’s 2025 Charity Golf Invitational next year on Friday, March 15, at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile.  Austal USA and their supporters have raised over $2.6 million for local charities, including long-time event partner United Way of Southwest Alabama, within the last decade.  The charity invitational is one of the many ways Austal USA gives back to the community whose enduring support has enabled the company’s success as a major defense contractor for 25 years.

This year, the proceeds of Austal USA’s Charity Golf Invitational will be distributed across an event record-breaking number of charities.  The 2025 invitational will benefit the following 14 charities located throughout Baldwin and Mobile Counties: Blacksmith Experience, Camp Rapahope, Eastern Shore Recovery Foundation, Feeding the Gulf Coast, Fuse Project, H2Overecome, Home of Grace, Make-a-Wish of Alabama, Ransom Ministries, Ruff Wilson Youth Organization, Secret Meals, SEEDS, U.S. Coast Guard Foundation, and United Way of Southwest Alabama.  These organizations were selected based on applications they submitted, including videos, explaining their charitable missions and the impact that their projects would make with the funding from the tournament.

“Austal USA is always excited at the prospect of giving back to our community.  Our team looks forward to this annual event and the impact it has on thousands of people,” Austal USA Vice President for Business Development and External Affairs Lawrence Ryder said. “Being able to bring together our great team of employees, vendors, and local community leaders to raise funds that support these charities and bring awareness to their cause is something we all look forward to each year.”

“United Way is a proud community partner of Austal USA. For 20 years, we have been fortunate to work with this incredible company dedicated to the success of our local community, region, and state,” said United Way of Southwest Alabama President/CEO Justin Bixler. “The success of their annual charity golf invitational has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over the last 13 years, Austal USA and their suppliers have invested over $2.6 million dollars into Southwest Alabama through United Way and local non-profits building brighter futures for our residents and children.”

Continued Bixler, “We are excited that Austal USA is expanding their investment to benefit additional non-profit partners this year. It takes all of us to come together and lift up our community and the people who call Southwest Alabama home. When corporations invest in the communities in which they operate and where their workforce lives, we see transformative change and we are grateful for Austal USA’s visionary efforts to Lead The Way.”
